Dr. Fran Walker grew up in Pense, Saskatchewan and actually started out working at the Lakewood Animal Hospital as a kennel assistant in 1994. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 2002. After graduation, she worked at a small animal clinic in Edmonton for 3 ½ years. She then worked at a small animal clinic in Calgary for 6 years before moving back to Regina. Fran has been “back home” at the Lakewood Animal Hospital since 2012.
Fran has a soft spot for kitties and a passion for feline behavior. Don’t worry though, she still loves her canine patients! Fran is also interested in preventive wellness and hospice care. Fran’s primary goal is to find ways to enhance the quality of life of her patients and to keep them happy and healthy for as long as possible.
In her free time, Fran enjoys yoga, hiking, biking, camping, scrapbooking, painting, and all kinds of other crafty things. Fran also keeps herself busy with fostering cats and kittens for the Regina Humane Society. Fran lives in Regina with her husband, their daughter, and a black cat named Shadow.
