What is a pre-anesthetic blood screen?

This is a blood sample that is analyzed in hospital prior to the surgical procedure. It can rule out medical problems that could cause problems during the anesthesia. This blood screen is mandatory for pets over the age of 7 years but is recommended for all pets undergoing a surgical procedure.
