In house veterinary laboratory

Lakewood Animal Hospital can perform diagnostic laboratory tests within the clinic. Samples for the tests may be collected at the clinic, or the pet owner may collect samples at home (feces and urine only) and bring them to the clinic.

The following types of tests are frequently done in our laboratory:

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)
  • Bio chemistry
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecal analysis
  • Cytology
  • Thyroid (T4)
  • Phenobarbitol levels
  • PT/PTT
  • Titer testing

Lakewood Animal Hospital can facilitate further testing through other laboratory facilities for more in depth analysis. These other laboratories provide a full range of diagnostic services including: necropsy, surgical pathology, clinical pathology, histology, bacteriology, immunology, molecular diagnostics, virology, and toxicology, endocrinology and FAVN services.
