COVID-19 Social Distancing Protocol

Lakewood Animal Hospital COVID-19 Social Distancing Protocol – Updated August 18, 2020

    1. Please do not visit our hospital if you are experiencing ANY symptoms of illness. We want to continue to provide excellent care for your pets, and in order to do so, we need to stay healthy.  We work very closely with each other and your pets and any illness can spread very easily in this environment.
    2. Please do not visit the clinic within 2 weeks of any travel.
  • One Pet, One Person Policy
    1. We ask that only one HEALTHY adult brings your pet to the appointment. We will make exceptions for all compassionate visits.
    2. Masks will be mandatory for all persons (employees and clients) in the building. We have masks available for purchase if you require. If you are unable to wear a mask, we ask that you wait in your vehicle during the appointment and the doctor will communicate with you via telephone. A staff member will come to your vehicle to bring your pet inside the building.
    3. We want to eliminate groups of people gathering in our reception area and our front door will be locked.  We are asking clients to wait in their vehicle until the previous client has left the building. Please be patient as this will take more time to manage people safely and efficiently.  Please call us from your vehicle when you arrive in our parking lot and we can help meet your needs in this fashion.
    4. Our “technologist only” appointments will all be done in our treatment room. Please call the clinic from the parking lot when you arrive for your appointment and a technologist will come to bring your pet into the building and will return the pet to your vehicle when the treatment is completed. Payment can be made from outside at our “pick up” window.
  • A few other things to consider
    1. We will be taking appropriate precautions like not shaking hands/hugging and washing our hands MORE frequently than normal. We are disinfecting all surfaces (including counters, keyboards, phones, point of sale machines, handle/doorknobs) between clients and patients.
    2. We ask that you provide 24 hour notice so that we can prepare prescription diets and medications for pick up. Pick ups and payments can be made through our pick up window.  It is always an option to order pet food and supplies from our website
