COVID-19 Social Distancing Protocol

Lakewood Animal Hospital COVID-19 Social Distancing Protocol – Updated March 25, 2021

  • IF YOU ARE ILL
    1. Please do not visit our hospital if you are experiencing ANY symptoms of illness. We want to continue to provide excellent care for your pets, and in order to do so, we need to stay healthy.  We work very closely with each other and your pets and any illness can spread very easily in this environment.
    2. Please do not visit the clinic within 2 weeks of any international travel.
  • One Person Per Appointment Policy
    1. We ask that only one HEALTHY adult brings your pet to the appointment. Any additional people will be asked to wait outside.  We will make exceptions for all compassionate visits.
    2. Masks will be mandatory for all persons (employees and clients, aged 2 years old and up) in the building. We have masks available for purchase if you require. If you are unable to wear a mask, we ask that you wait in your vehicle during the appointment and the doctor will communicate with you via telephone. A staff member will come to your vehicle to bring your pet inside the building.
    3. We can allow a maximum of 5 people in our reception area at one time. Please be patient as this will take more time to manage people safely and efficiently. When you arrive for your appointment, please call us from your vehicle and we will let you know when it is safe to enter the building.
    4. Our “technologist only” appointments will all be done in our treatment room. Please call the clinic from the parking lot when you arrive for your appointment. A technologist will call you when they are ready for you to enter the building.
  • A few other things to consider
    1. We will be taking appropriate precautions like not shaking hands/hugging and washing our hands MORE frequently than normal. We are disinfecting all surfaces (including counters, keyboards, phones, point of sale machines, handle/doorknobs) between clients and patients.
    2. We ask that you provide 24 hour notice so that we can prepare prescription diets and medications for pick up. We are recommending payment over the phone prior to when you arrive to pick up these items in order to decrease the amount of time clients spend in the building.  It is always an option to order pet food and supplies from our website lakewoodanimalhospital.ca
