Dr. Fran Walker grew up in Pense, Saskatchewan and actually started out working at the Lakewood Animal Hospital as a kennel assistant in 1994. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon in 2002. After graduation, she worked at a small animal clinic in Edmonton for 3 ½ years. She then worked at a small animal clinic in Calgary for 6 years before moving back to Regina. Dr. Walker has been “back home” at the Lakewood Animal Hospital since 2012. Although she enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, her passion lies in feline medicine and behaviour. She is also interested in preventative medicine and hospice care. Dr. Walker’s primary goal is to find ways to enhance the quality of life of her patients and to keep them happy and healthy for as long as possible. In her limited free time, Dr. Walker enjoys baking, hiking, camping, scrapbooking, painting, and all kinds of other crafty things. Dr. Walker lives in Regina with her husband, their daughter, and a senior kitty cat named Sage.
